Q.

#askdoctors My baby till date gets watery poop 3-4 times a day and sometimes it is frothy. I am not having any dairy products as my paediatric has told me that my baby might have cow milk protein allergy but even then the froth has not stopped. Please advice.

A. Frothy or foamy stool is especially common in babies and is not usually a cause for concern. Foamy stool in babies is often a sign that they are getting an overload of lactose, a sugar found in breast milk. Breast milk consists of two parts: foremilk and hindmilk.
