Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. hair loss in babies is very common and because of many reasons.
Because of the withdrawal maternal hormone initial hairfall is there.
After birth all the hair of the baby remain in the resting phase and usually by 8 to 12 weeks of age shedding of hairs is there .
Hairs will grow back mostly by 3-7 months but a proper quality hair will be there by around 2 years of age.
Cradle cap is also a cause for frequent shedding of hairs. along with traction alopecia because of continuous pressure on head in lying position. to resolve the problem of cradle cap you can apply flutivate e cream over tuhe scalp for one week and then discontinue but if the problem persists athen you should consult your doctor for proper treatment.

Then use a fine toothed comb or hair brush to gently comb away the flakes. If the cradle cap seems to be severe you can consult with your pediatrician and get some medicated baby shampoo prescribed
