A. It is common for 16-month-old babies to wake up multiple times at night for breastfeeding, even after having a good meal. Here are some possible reasons and solutions: Possible Reasons: Sleep Association with Breastfeeding – If your baby is used to falling asleep while nursing, he may wake up seeking comfort. Hunger or Growth Spurts – Some toddlers still need night feeds, but offering a more filling dinner might help. Teething Discomfort – Teething pain can disturb sleep. Try a teething toy or soothing gel (doctor recommended). Separation Anxiety – At this age, babies seek comfort from their mother at night. Room Environment Issues – Temperature, noise, or discomfort might cause frequent waking. How to Help Your Baby Sleep Longer: ✔️ Gradually Reduce Night Feeds – Try comforting him in other ways instead of immediately offering the breast. ✔️ Offer a Filling Bedtime Snack – Foods like mashed banana, curd, or oatmeal can keep him full longer. ✔️ Encourage Self-Soothing – Let him learn to fall asleep without breastfeeding every time. ✔️ Comfort Without Feeding – Patting, cuddling, or using a pacifier may help settle him back to sleep. ✔️ Maintain a Consistent Bedtime Routine – A warm bath, gentle massage, and dim lighting can help. If he continues waking up too frequently, check for teething, digestive issues, or discomfort, and consult a doctor if needed. Let me know if you need more guidance!
