A. yes .Once solid foods are introduced into your baby's diet, his poop is going to change. ... Too much of any of these, especially cereal, could cause constipation in your baby. Try to add some veggies or fruits in your preparation to soften stool and easy to evacuate. give sipes of water after each solid feed. Give Tummy Massage in clockwise direction.

A. as I said prefer homemade food for the baby. discontinue cerelac if the baby has constipation due to it. let the baby pass the stool comfortably and you can try giving cerelac some other day. Constipation is very common with children. This could be due to some new food introduced or due to less water intake. Give peach papaya prunes or pear to the baby if the baby is above six months. Include one of the fruits daily in the diet. Put warm water towel on the abdominal area. Give atleast 3-4 ounces of water to the baby if she is above 6 months. The water should be boiled cool water. Massage your baby daily and specially massage the tummy area in clockwise direction. Follow up with bicycle exercises with the baby. Soak the raisins overnight and give those raisins in the morning daily if the baby is above 8 months. Make sure that the raiders are mashed properly Or you can give soaked raisin water to the baby if the baby is just 6-7 months old. Add few drops of ghee into baby milk to avoid constipation. Apply some oil in the anal area so that the potty comes out softly. The mother should include lots of fruits and vegetables into her diet if she is a feeding mother. It will also help the baby in passing poop.

A. yes this might be the cause of constipation as sometimes solid foods or cerelac does not suit to the baby and they might get constipation. I suggest that avoid packed foods and give more of semi solids prepared at home. give atleast 3-4 ounces of water in a day. For 6 months old baby you should start with 1 meal in a day along with breast feeding. Prefer to give food in the morning so that if the child has some allergy or discomfort due to food then you will get to know. The food should be properly mashed and the puree should be very thin so the baby can easily swallow it. Rest there is no fix guide line.keep on try after some gaps if the baby spits out. Even if the baby eats 1-2 spoons then also it's ok rest it depends on baby to baby. Always start with fruit purees. You can give mashed bananas apple puree pear puree avocados prunes puree apricots puree .avoid combined fruits. Carrot puree mashed potato sweet potato pumpkin puree peas puree can be given. You can also give moving daal water mashed oats mashed ragi or rice water.
