A. If you have established a nursing routine well then u can give pacifiers. Generally it is advisable to give pacifiers after the baby is around six weeks old as it can cause nipple confusion while breastfeeding resulting in feeding problems. The pros of using a pacifiers is that it will soothe the baby while crying or putting to sleeps, prevents SIDS. The cons will be it can cause nipple confusion resulting in feeding problems, it will become an habit, which you will be required to wean after some time(good if weaned before one year) , you should keep the pacifiers clean to prevent any infections.
