Q.
antibiotics in cough 10 mnth old cough at night with conjection .. should I give antibiotic also or only cough syrup will work share Ur experience plz

Expertdr Komal agrawalPaediatrician7 years agoA. Hello Ideally antibiotics does not play much role in suppressing cough. But if doctor has auscultated the child and checked his chest and if he has some sounds in chest anddoctor suspects some infection then you must give antibiotics for 5-7days. For cough along with cough syrup you keep baby away from smoke and dust. You can give steam inhalation or nebulization whatever is possible for you. You can Also give honey with drops of ginger and give Luke warm milk with haldi to drink. Cough gets tested completely after 10-15days only. If child has difficulty in feeding and breathing then you must consult your doctor once

ExpertDr Bandana JoshiAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. Common cold is a viral infection of nose and throat. Nasal Congestion and runny nose are the main indicators of a cold. Keep feeding your baby well, give indirect steam or use humidifier, put saline nasal drops. You can prevent it by keeping your baby away from the person who is suck, wash your hands before handling the baby, clean baby's toys and pacifier often. Give warm liquids like soups.

Nihita mittalMom of a 8 yr 4 m old boy7 years agoA. Hello and good evening nothing can be said without examining the child I would recommend you to please get the baby examined by the pediatrician and only then can it be said whether antibiotic will be required or not
