ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. Diapers are safe if you Maintain precaution. It is important to change diapers every two to three hours. Keeping the baby longer than this period with a used diaper can cause infections or rashes. When the baby passes stool, then it is a must to change the diaper immediately to maintain hygiene. After removing the diaper, don’t make your baby wear another diaper immediately. Allow his skin to breathe, let it be free for some time. Clean your baby’s skin with baby wipes or cloth after removing the diaper. You can apply any of -candid cream, or eazynappy cream, Sofirash cream or Himalaya's diaper rashe cream. All these help in curing rashes. maintain good hygiene. before wearing diaper n keep baby diaper free for 1 to 2 hrs a day...diaper rash cream can itself cause rash...so dnt use it for prophylaxis...use it nly if rash is developing..U can use coconut oil also instead of Vaseline

ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. Hello You can use any good brand diaper like pampers premium care or mamy poko or huggies. Avoid all day long use If rashes appear Avoid using diapers till rashes heal completely. Giving diaper free time in between the usage of diapers is a must to prevent occurrence of rashes. Use the right sized diaper that is as per baby weight. It should not be tight or loose to leak the contents Change diapers every three to four hours and immediately if soiled by poop Apply some coconut oil or any diaper rash cream like himalaya or b4nappy on the rashes and leave it open to air. Try using cotton nappies sometimes as cotton is a skin friendly , breathable material and lessens the chances of rashes as it has to be changed immediately. Avoid too much rubbing the delicate skin with wet wipes or cloth and try to wash area often with water and pat dry after every poop . To prevent UTI keep changing diapers regularly and wash from front to back Before putting on diapers ensure that the area is completely dry. If wet first pat dry. And apply a little coconut oil on the area.

Change the diaper after every 3-4 hours.. Clean the genital area with plain water and dap with cotton cloth. Let the area air dry. Apply coconut oil or good diaper rash cream before putting the diaper. Choose the correct size. Avoid diaper in case of diaper rash. Give some diaper free time during the daytime. Do not put the diaper over umbical cord until it's dried and fallen off. Always apply coconut oil or which ever diaper rash cream you use before putting the diaper even if the baby does not has rash. It will make a layer between hips and diaper and helps to reduce the risk of rashes.
