Q.

Aadhritha is now 11 months old she is just 7.5 kg her birth weight was 3.1kg. last month she lost 50gm Finding difficult to feed her,she spits food.we are trying all variety.Help us to gain her weight and some strategy to make her eat.She takes mom feed before she sleeps .

A. Namaste MOm, Babies are expected to almost double their birth weight by the age of 4 to 6 months and later triple by the age of 1 as such, by now the baby should be used to almost nearing to family foods as such, soft foods also when they are teething the appetite gets effected you could make the meal time fun and interesting , avoid force feeding add in flavours and taste, make them eat from your plate as well

A. Hello! Ideally, the child should be doubling birth weight by six months and triple by one year completion. Your child seems to be on the slower side of weight gain. It can be due to malabsorption of food or some other related problems . Check with your consulting paediatrician for any kind of deficiency issues.
