POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 5 m old boy4 months agoA. An 80-day-old baby (around 2.5 months) sleeping more in the daytime and staying awake at night is quite common. This usually happens because her circadian rhythm (sleep-wake cycle) is not yet fully developed. Babies at this age often confuse day and night.
Here are a few gentle tips to help adjust her sleep pattern:
Daytime: Keep the room bright and active, talk and play with her. Nighttime: Keep lights dim, avoid talking or stimulating activities during feeds. Bedtime routine: Try a calming routine like a warm wipe, gentle massage, or lullaby around the same time every night. Feeding: Make sure she’s well-fed before bedtime to help her sleep longer stretches.
This phase usually improves gradually by 3–4 months. If she’s otherwise feeding well, gaining weight, and not unusually fussy, there's no need to worry.
