ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist5 years agoA. As such based on the blood level you can wait. But if the doctor feels the baby needs it after physical examination you should consider beacuse sometimes it increases in the next 24 hours too

Lovleena MishraMom of 2 children5 years agoA. Treatment is recommended if bilirubin levels reach: a)15mg/dL in newborns 25-48 hours old b)18mg/dL in newborns 49-72 hours old c)20mg/dL in newborns more than 72 hours old. Please consult your doctor to find out whether phototherapy is needed.
