Q.

4 months back, my son fell down and got a head bump. He cried for a little, but he has been doing absolutely fine, with no symptoms or signs of any discomfort and problem. just a few days back, I noticed a little deviation/bony elevation on the same spot of the head. should i be worried about this?

A. Any Fall injury specially head injury needs to be assessed properly . In any such case certain symptoms needs to be checked like loss of consciousness reccurrent vomiting or any abnormal moment or convulsions . Such case needs immediate medical intervention as there could be some internal injury . Otherwise application of ice locally to reduce the swelling and pain can be done along with some analgesic like paracetamol. Recurrerunt fall injury for a child should be avoided as it can lead to some chronic manifestations occasionally . Also teeth injury should be rule out in any such casef which is commonly associated and can be easily missed out most of the time .
