A. A four-and-a-half-month-old baby being frequently cranky or fussy can be due to various normal developmental reasons like growth spurts, teething, gas, or even overstimulation. At this age, babies are also becoming more aware of their surroundings and may get frustrated when they can't express their needs. Ensure your baby is well-fed, burped properly, getting enough sleep, and not too hot or cold. Gently rocking, soothing sounds, tummy massage, or offering comfort through cuddling can help. If the crankiness persists or is accompanied by fever, poor feeding, or unusual behavior, it’s best to consult your pediatrician to rule out any medical issues.
