Q.

3 yr 8 month old ..doctor ko dikhaya subah..viral ke medicine diye..aur bata high grade fever raha to antibiotics chalu karna padega ..for bacterial infection . to aabhi shyam ko medicine di P-250MF 3ml syrup polycav (400)5ml 12 hourly fever ka medicine deke 2 hr ho gaye ..but no relief .. fever as it is...kya kare?

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ doste. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponftge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. Start doing Thade Paani ki patti chili helps a lot in reducing down the temperature still if you feel that it is not reducing down the temperature even with the cold sponging then in that case you need to check with your doctor again
