ExpertDr. Swapnil SaxenaAyurvedic Physician7 years agoA. avoid ghee Use oils like virgin coconut oil or almond oil or olive oil during winter Massaging builds up a bond with your baby. It’s good to tone and strengthen the muscles. Relaxes the body and helps baby sleep better . Massaging improves the blood circulation and decreases the discomfort by gases and congestion too. Massage baby when he is well rested and taken meal atleast 30 minutes prior up the massage time. Massage legs and hands in gently squeezing in downward motion. In palms and soles in a gentle circular motion. Rotate the wrist and ankle a few times in both clockwise and anti clockwise direction. On chest from inward to outward direction by your palms . For stomach it has to be more gentle . Make circular strokes around belly button . Make baby lie in his tummy and massage his back. Keep both palms on back and move back and forth from neck to buttocks. Massage shoulders and buttocks in gentle circular motion.

Sneha PuruswaniMom of 2 children7 years agoA. Avoid using ghee for the massage for the baby as it can be too sticky and also smells. Use coconut oil for massage and also for hair for the baby. It's mild and easily absorbed in the baby's skin keeps the baby's skin soft and smooth specially in winters. Use virgin coconut oil non perfumed one coconut oil
