Q.

16 day baby girl is suffering from mild umbilical cord infection, we have taken her to the hospital where she was delivered consequently, they have given paracetamol (liquid) pain killer and t bact ointment and redness around belly button has gone. My question is whether she will recover with the help of these treatment or antibiotic is must for treating omphalitis#asktheexpert

A. hi depends on your child health condition if your child is showing infection symptoms, it needs to be treated with antibiotics or other medication so please visit your pediatrician and get it checked
