ExpertDr Disha PatelAyurvedic Physician6 years agoA. It is developmentally normal to wake up at night at least through the first year and often for quite a while longer.
At first babies mostly wake due to hunger at night as they are trying to double their birthweight in their first four to six months; they need to eat often.
Later babies and toddlers might wake from hunger, loneliness or any of the reasons like too hot or too cold, having toothache, a bad dream, not properly tired.
