Shorten each breastfeeding session before stopping it completely.
Postpone breastfeeding sessions and Substitute food, drinks, or comfort for breastfeeding.
Distract your toddler.
Stopping gradually will also help prevent problems like overfull, hard (engorged) breasts and mastitis.

Give another feeding to the child and start withdrawing your breast feeding by giving a complimentary feeding to the child that is the right way that you can go ahead with introducing a complimentary feeding and reducing down and quitting breastfeeding gradually
