Q.
1) my 5 years old son has whooping cough from last 3 days.. I'm giving him rexcof dx nf cough syrup uses around 2 ml 3-4 times in a day. 2) From yesterday he got runny nose and watery eyes too ..so I'm giving him loratadine oral solution USP alaspan 5 ml 2times. please guide me ππ. am I giving him right syrup and ml too.. or I need to change the syrup or need to visit to doctor.

Author of questionMom of 2 children4 years agoA. he didn't had fever.. only cough whooping type started initially then after 2 days now stuffy nose and watery eyes.. what syrup will be more helpful

S KMom of a 7 yr 3 m old boy4 years agoA. it seems he is suffering from viral. After fever ends cough and runny nose starts. it will be over in 7 to 10 days even without medicines. But it is preferable that you visit a Dr as he might suggest some other cough syrup or treatment.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. any cough most of the time either it could be allergic or infective which needs proper evaluation. initially you can start by giving steam inhalation to your baby which will help in relieving symptoms to some extent and will mak$ie the baby comfortable.for small baby should be given indirectly from a distance.cough suppressants are usually avoided in children,it needs to be examined first before giving any kind of medicine. so it will be better if you consult your doctor for proper guidance along with proper dosage for the kind of problem.
