make Indian sweet with use of ghee, jaggery and nuts ...
also use soya floor and soyabean ... all beans are high in iron mashed then and cook different varieties with it ... dates is a good option too.
dates* are good source of iron too .. you can make chikki using dates nuts and jaggery looks yummy attractive enough to get child's attention without any forcefull attempts .
