Yes it is the bitter truth of the society. almost everybody\'s house there is same problem. although parents think girls are their princess but most of the cases grand parents think that sons are assets & daughters are liabilities. but now a days we should develop our mentality.

totally agree with you...this is the harsh reality of the society everywhere. and sometimes hypocricy shoots up so high that people will treat their own daughter like a princess but the same couple as paternal grandparents will treat their female grandchild as something inferior to the male grandchild.
not parents but grandparents n relatives does think that daughter's are liabilities n sons are assets. I gave birth to my angel but reaction was from in laws was "asude" in marathi. my sister in law gave birth to son n they all were very happy . I took my daughter to my in laws house after 8 long month but they were only affectionate towards that boy never baught any toy or even dress. in indian society nowadays after one boy they will accept girl child but if first child is a girl they are eagerly waiting for " varis " a boy. I wanted only one child my daughter but do you think my in laws will not intervene.

Yes they think like that..it has to change in home it self while the elders gives more important to son and encourage him like their thought has to be change.. . son and daughter are equal ...to every one it has to change through home..

yes and it\'s a bitter truth. To change this mindset in schools and colleges , teachers have to educate them that both are equal therefore present and future generations will be happy
