second son is of father - son
so in all three persons- grand father, father and son

there are 3 cups for three person
first grandfather
second grandfather's son
third grandfather's grandson

Grandfather have a son and grandfather son (I.e father in question) also have a son ....so 2 son’s then 3 cups
