A Boy Child or a Girl Child have been treated differently since ages. A desire of having a 'Son' rather than a 'Daughter' is still there in most parts of the country.Does it really matter for you? Why do you think our society has this preference for having Son rather than Daughter?

in Our society most people having this Orthodox thought which is truly wrong that the son is the heir of the family and carry out the chain of ancestors in next century by dragging the name of father and his surname.. and that foolish people think that the girl will marry one day and she have his husband name and surname.. but really the girl and boys are same in nowadays...... having a child... it's prove that u r blessed not even doesn't matter if it is boy or girl..... they are only children the God's gift.. don't abuse the God by differentiate them into gender.

it doesn't matter to me.
but I think society prefers boyz caz they want their old-age support. boyz in some part of country act as income source at time of marriage with silent dowry(I.e. jewelry.gifts.etc)
