Expressing milk will not empty breasts completely if they are engorged.Try to feed your baby more often.Check if the baby is latching well. You can try using breast pump..it will help with breast engorgement.
You can use cold packs for pain relief

Dear mothers who face this problem, let me share with you what worked for me!
- First of all whenever you are not breastfeeding wear a bra. This is very important, even at night (though you can loosen it a bit for sleep). You\'ll start noticing difference very soon.
- Use warm water for relief only before feeding.
- When expressing extra breast milk - to have to first make around 5 gentle and quick squeezes (be it hand or pump) only they signal for milk to start flowing and only after that start long squeezes, if milk is not coming but breasts are engorged repeat gentle and short squeezes until it does. And express only small amount of milk just until the painful fullness is gone, if you express too much milk it will only result in more milk production and hence will make the problem worse.
- If feeding baby with engorged breasts, make sure latch is proper, and help baby by very gently massaging the breast while baby is feeding. This will help with milk let down.
