Breastfeeding provides your baby with a variety of health and developmental benefits. The natural ingredients found in breast milk help protect your baby from illness and disease during infancy. They also continue to provide your child with better health as they grow, even after weaning.
Breast milk is also easy for your newborn to digest. Your body makes breast milk specifically for your baby. It is easier to digest than formula and may help prevent gas and colic. A breastfed baby\'s bowel movements are not as smelly. Breastfed babies tend to experience less diarrhea and constipation as well.

The best thing about my partner was his belief in me and his postive attitude that I will be a good mother and that whatever decesion I would take would be in the interest of our child, irrespective of the different suggestions that kept pouring from different people to us. That attitude was more helpful during the early days of breastfeeding when he made me beleive only my instincts whether feeding my baby enough and not listen to others who\'d suggest different theories about giving formula when baby is not sleeping or start solids at 4 months of age. It is because of his support that I could listen and ignore to such suggestions. I think having a supportive partner helps during difficult times like depression whether during or post pregnancy.
