Can a baby get his tummy full by sucking for 5 mins only after every 1 to 1.5 hr?

Hello everyone...my baby is 1.5 months old and is on exclusive breastfeeding...he sucks only for 5 mins and then sleeps for 1 to 1.5 hrs after which he sucks again for 5 mins only. His pee count is 6+ in 24 hrs,he poops once every three days.I am confused if his feeding pattern is normal or if I am short of supply..Please help.

latching for 5min all the time indicates baby getting tired of latching. may be you are not holding your baby in right position which is comfortablefor him to latch for longer time. his face should face your nipple. your aerola should be in his mouth completely. his stomach should be almost touching your stomach. and head should be held higher than lower body.

It's good that he drink milk every 1 or 1.5hours.He sucks for five minutes only it's means he is weak he gets tired after sucking.so,you have to wash your nipples with warm water before feeding lthen it becomes soft and he can suck easily for more minutes.

My baby is too take feeding for 10mins position and technique r proper his gaining his weight and urinating 6+ in an hr
Don’t worry if he/she gaining weight n urinating frequently just try to engage her/him while feeding

no baby should latch 15 to 20 minutes minimum or 30 minutes maximum .sometimes babies are not hungry they just want to sleep .they just take nipples in their mouth for five minutes to sleep .

may be he got tired while latching as babies usualy do. but if he is sleeping, urinating and poop properly than nothing to worry..
just relax and enjoy the motherhood.
