Hello moms, I am mother of a 7 yr girl and a 4 months baby. I breastfeed by baby. Now I am having a challenge because my son has gained over weight the reason behind it is over feeding. when doctor told me that there will be complications if I over feed the baby I was totally blank. I din't know anything about this over feeding, the weight which had to be gained at his 6th month he had already gained in his 4th month.

When I asked my doctor how to face this challenge he told me to increase the gap between feeds. I am trying to follow that, but when I see my son I feel a guilt that I may not be giving him sufficient milk. Even if I feed after a gap of 3 hrs he vomits some milk. I am really worried about it.

Please someone help me to face this and also give some suggestions like what's the time gap I can maintain and how to avoid milk spitting.
If baby is hungry and needs milk then you should feed him. There is nothing like over feeding. Also check your water intake as too much water like 5 liters a day may dilute the milk and very less water may leave the baby dehydrated.
Also vomit happens when baby has not burped and due to gas formation the milk is spilled out. Try burping baby after every 15 minutes this will not only reduce gas formation and vomit but also make him feel full faster.

I had emergency C section and baby for fed formula for 2 days.
1. When I stated to breastfeed I got cracked nipples and that got corrected by applying hot ghee.
2. Then engrossed breast as baby prefered only 1 side and that got corrected by expressing milk and feeding from led prefered side while baby was asleep.
3. Then milk supply reduced when baby was 1 month old and I had to take lactation powder for help.
4. After 1st vaccination my baby stopped take bottle. So till date he is exclusively breastfeed even though he's 3+ months old and I will be back to work in 2.5 months.

For me It was very hard on the first day to pump the milk for my 1 day old baby. But my nurse was very helpful. She motivated me to give breast milk and gradually on the second day my baby took my breast milk. From then till now,I have giving only breastmilk to my baby.Eventhough I am a working woman but I have made sure my baby gets milk every two hours. It was not easy as compared to formula milk.Beacause u have to sit for long hours a s in night too to feed ur baby but at the end it's worth it.And nobody could help you.It is just you and your baby.In order to maintain my milk supply,I have never skip milk for a day for me too.Along with some protinex or some Horlicks for breastfeeding increase. Also i had 3 months for dry fruits halwa and Since i am breastfeeding,My weight did not increase that much even though I am eating healthy and fat foods. At the end I am loving my Motherhood phase with all ups and down
I am also working mother and got leaves till 6 till months, but not sure how I'll manage my baby in breast milk alone as I'll be back to work in 2.5 months.
Due to emergency C section my baby was given formula milk and he continued that along with breast milk till 1st vaccination. Post that he stopped the formula milk and I tried for a week but he didn't take formula at all. I'm happy to exclusively breastfeed my baby but what after I go back to work after 2.5 months. How do you manage to exclusively breastfeed?

if u are stil giving breast feed even it is few mins or times it is well and good u can increase it.
first of all food intake like garlic in every meals , milk consumption and iron intake will gradually increase breast milk.
also while feeding always think that u are have surplus breast milk and then feed baby in relaxed manner in a stress tree state. u can increase breast milk secretion.
you can change your pump. what pump r u using. also take lactation supplements

Exclusive breastfeeding is very challenging in joint family. Ppl ask questions such as isn't the baby remaining hungry?, why is the baby crying everytime?..... and so on, which hurt me alot. they never did exclusive breastfeeding so they don't know. But I thank God who helped me through this tough stage for my both kids. And of course the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding are immense. If child falls sick he recovers quickly if he is on exclusive breastfeeding. bcoz breast produces milk according to child's needs.
I too faced this type f questions and hurted so much
