Letta is predominantly a female's name which is derived from the Greek word "Alethea", which means "truth". It is also apparently a form of Leta derived from the Greek Λήδα (Leda). It is quite rare and not commonly used.

As for famous personalities, there doesn't seem to be a large number of celebrities or public figures with the name Letta. However, one notable bearer of the name is Letta Mbulu. She is a popular South African jazz singer who began her career in the 1960s and spent a notable part of her career in the United States.
