POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 8 yr 11 m old boy1 Year agoA. For a four-year-old child suffering from a cold, here are some home care tips:
1. **Hydration**: Ensure your child drinks plenty of fluids like water, warm soups, or herbal teas to stay hydrated.
2. **Rest**: Encourage your child to rest as much as possible to help their body recover.
3. **Humidifier**: Use a cool-mist humidifier in their room to keep the air moist, which can help ease congestion and soothe a sore throat.
4. **Saline Drops**: Use saline nasal drops or sprays to help clear nasal congestion.
5. **Warm Compress**: A warm compress on the forehead or nose can provide relief from sinus pressure.
6. **Honey**: For children over one year old, a teaspoon of honey can help soothe a sore throat and reduce coughing. Do not give honey to children under one year old.
If symptoms persist for more than a week, worsen, or are accompanied by high fever, difficulty breathing, or persistent ear pain, it's important to consult a pediatrician.
