Q.

I have one doubt since my baby started solids some people say to give salt and some not while reading recipes I saw one of recipe have jaggery in it but in lots of videos I have saw that no sugar, jaggery or honey below the age of 2 years and no salt till 1 years so please clear this and please clear this we can give pink salt or black salt to my baby right now I am not given him any salt and sweetener like sugar jaggery or honey am I doing right or not should I have start?

A. Namaste Mom, If the baby is fine and eats without the flavour it is ok, but in case required you can use in small amounts as then they will adapt to the taste later on well enough. avoid using refined white sugar for now, use jaggery or mishri for salt you can use lemon

A. Okay so Maam jaggery and dates are good sweeteners which are healthy and safe to be given which is why the doctors advised you to give it from the age of seven months onwards and salt is not advisable honey is not advisable till the age of one year so you can skip salt if your child is comfortably eating the food that you’re giving without salt no issues
