Is it mandatory to let down from the breast to know milk supply is good

It’s nothing like that if your child is taking feeding properly and full for at least two hours on the minimum side then it is good but yes if the breast is extremely soft all the time then it would be a problem but otherwise what you were saying is not an indication whether the child is getting enough feed or not
