Q.

atimes...I hear mild cold sound when my 1 month old baby breathe.. anything I could do from home other than going to hospital (heard hspitl staff got covid.. so scared to go out) any remedies

A. if he has no runny nose than nothing to worry about it.. noisy breathing is caused by the sound of the air flowing over the saliva which pools at the back of the baby’s throat. use normal saline nose drops. These liquefy the nasal secretions and help to clear mucous which may be obstructing the baby’s nostrils check with your baby’s doctor and make sure there is no medical cause for the noisy breathing.

A. In summary, most of the noises your baby makes are perfectly normal. Warning signs of something more serious can include blue or purple lips, a baby holding his/her breathe for more than 20 seconds at a time or fever in the first 28 days of life.
