The MMR vaccine protects against measles, mumps , and rubella, and is highly recommended for infants to prevent serious complications, like pneumonia and encephalitis. The first dose is given at nine months to provide early protection against measles. It is better to follow the standard immunisation schedule given to your child by the doctor.
