Q.

#asktheexperts Hi. My daughter is 2 months old and she sleeps for 8-9 hours continuously at night without any feeds. In the days she feeds for about 8 times. Her weight gain is also fine. Should I wake her up at night for night time feeds?

A. Namaste Mom, Would not recommend to wake the baby up for feeding , instead let them have a good sleep , most babies cannot sustain hunger ,and hence if they are sleeping well that quite indicates he is full enough and not hungry

A. Hello! Weight gain is the key. If your paediatrician is happy with your daughter’s weight gain and she’s meeting her developmental milestones, it is usually not necessary to wake her at night to feed. Allowing her to sleep for a longer stretches at night, helps her develop a healthy sleep, wake cycle
