#AskTheExpert hi Doctor my baby is 2 years old.. she has not started speaking two words together still. she says single words like mama, dada, more, nana, papa, up, cold.,throw, out etc and some words she says only first half like ba for banana, ga for granny.. is she lagging behind on her speech?

ExpertDr Priyanka KalraObstetrician and Gynaecologist5 years agoA. its normal in these days. see more you can ask your own treating doctor. i am sure they will solve all your doubts and guide youyou can show the baby to a pediatric doctor who will check and find the right diagnosis and treat well

But This is fine certain times kids can start speaking after the age of three years clearly by combining words in saying different things but I don’t know if you look at it there is no issue relating to the same I would just advise you to have some patience try to encourage a child by talking more to your child
