Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 9 m old boy3 years agoA. no but you might be giving very less dose you have to give paracetamol for fever as well as pain according to the weight of the child as well as according to the strength of paracetamol medicine you are having. there are different strength of paracetamol available in the market that is it may be in the drops formulation which might be having power of 100 mg or or 125 mg or 150 mg in each 1ml. in syrup formulation paracetamol has got different powers like 120/ 25mg and 240/ 250 mg in each 5ml. so the doctor will calculate the dosage according to the power and weight of the child. paracetamol can be given max 4 times per day r the calculation is 15mg / kg / dose.

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeatedgu after 4-6 hrs if needed . Lukewarm sponge bath can be given as home remedy to decrease fever. h Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .
