Around 6–9 months, babies often begin a phase of separation anxiety. They are starting to understand "object permanence"—the idea that you still exist when you're out of sight. Because they are more aware of your absence, they may become distressed when anyone else tries to hold them or when you leave the room.
When a baby is sick or in pain (from teething, a cold, or an upset stomach), their world feels unpredictable and scary. They instinctively reach for their primary caregiver (usually Mom) because you represent safety, comfort, and relief. Other people, even familiar family members, may feel "too much" when the baby's sensory system is already overwhelmed by illness.
Being unwell is exhausting for a small body. Your baby may not have the energy to interact with others or play.

can be due to teething..
when the babies are on teething they become cranky and irritated ..
This is just a temporary phase..
so no need to worry about this much.
