Q.

#asktheexperts My son is sleeping very little and doesn't want to sleep in the afternoon. He goes to bed around 10:30 or 11 at night and wakes up around 5 in the morning. Is this normal?

A. Aapke bete ki sleep schedule me rat ko 10:30/11 baje sona aur subah 5 baje uthna matlab wo kul mila kar sirf 6 se 6.5 ghante hi so raha hai, jo ki is umar ke hisaab se thoda kam hai. Dophar (afternoon) me nap na lena aur raat ko der se sona iski main wajah ho sakti hai. Bedtime jaldi karein: Koshish karein ki bacha raat ko 9:00 ya 9:30 tak bistar par chala jaye taaki use poori 10-11 ghante ki raat ki neend mil sake. Screen Time kam karein: Sone se kam se kam 1 ghante pehle TV, mobile ya screen ka use bilkul band kar dein. Bedtime Routine banayein: Sone se pehle halka garm paani se nahana, ya koi kahani (bedtime story) sunane se bache ko relax hone me madad milti hai aur jaldi neend aati hai.

A. Babies and toddlers should have 10-12 hour continuous sleep Because they need growth hormone which is totally depending on a good sleep

A. Ma’am this is a very unhealthy routine for the child I suggest you to completely avoid giving daytime nap to the child which with the child will actually get tired and will sleep by eight or nine in the night you have to schedule for your child
