# asktheexperts my 5.5 month old is on lactose free formula from past 2 weeks because of diarrhea. His diarrhea stopped at 4 days itself but doctor recommended to continue for 2 weeks. do babies gain weight in lactose free formula as well like regular formula?? I'm worried about my baby's weight!

A. hello n good morning yes they do gain weight it is just that lactose is not present in it ..proteins and other minerals are still there so need not to worry for this
