Q.

#asktheexperts Hi mam, my baby is 16 days old. He was 2.475 during birth reduced to 2.290 and i was asked to give breastmilk + formula as his sugar was dropping while i was hospitalized. Now i am trying to completely change to breastmilk. My baby want to latch every 1 hr and i feel exhausted. I was adviced to feed him every 2 hr from hospital. Since he feeds every 1 to 1:30 hrs does that mean he is digesting breast milk well hence needs feeding more or he is not getting enough milk? And how long should i continue this 2 hr feeding

A. This two hour feeding is meant to be given for initial 60 days of birth and if you’re facing so much of problem I would suggest you to consult a lactation specialist they will assist you more how to give proper breastfeeding to the child to keep the child full for a longer duration
