#AskTheExpert my baby is keeping her thumb finger in mouth thru out the day even in sleep. how to figer it out. would there be any problems. plz help me

ExpertDr.Rasika ThosarPaediatric Intensivist5 years agoA. hi j thumb sucking is naturs way of soothing, comforting, it normally occurs at 3 to 4 mths of age. try involving your baby in other activity to decrease thumb sucking. normally child outgroWS this habit by 3 yrs of age. if it continues beyond that, if it interfers with speech, eating, or other finger activities , consult your paediatrician.

Vritika AroraMom of a 5 yr 4 m old child5 years agoA. Hi dear Normally this habit is outgrown by the kids when they grow up. Distract ur baby from putting thumb in the mouth. It will be fine. No need to worry about this. Take care
