#AskTheExpert My 3 month old kid does potty on every 5th day, Is this normal? He also farts a lot. I usually do breastfeeding and sometimes use Similac.... when I feed him, he goes to sleep so 1 bottle of Similac I give him everyday. Please advise

A. It is very normal for small children that sometimes they will not pass stool for 10 days also and sometimes they will pass stool more than 7 to 8 times per day. If the consistency of the stool is Semic solid to semi liquid do not worry about the frequency of the stool. No medicines needs to be given in such a case but you have to meet thec doctor only if the cstool consistency is hard. It is advisable to give only milk to the child and nothing else before completion of 6 months of age

A. Hi, check the urine count. If the urine county is more than 6 to 8 times in a day then it is completely fine. Since the baby is growing the milk is absorbed by the body and helps in body growth. If the urine count is less than six times in a day then please consult your paediatrician. Make sure to breastfeed your baby once in every two hours and burp your baby well. And do tummy time every day.
