Hello sir my baby is just 1 year old since 2 days he is having so much cough. I gave him Asthalin syrup but it is not working. Sir please suggest what should I do. As I am a working and single parent so I don't have such time to visit doctor. Kindly help me out

A. Cough and cold can be infective or allergic in cause.you can give steam to relieve nasal congestion which is of great help and nasoclear drops can also be used in nose multiple times.you can also give sinarest drops . cough syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough and only under the guidance of your pediatrician .self medication is not recommended. if the cough is productive give Respicure-ls. Usually due to the symptoms if the child is not showing interest in having food, give only simple home-made preparations as required, can give certain fruits like apple, papaya etc. ,child will start to eat as symptoms get resolved. Due to seasonal changes or due to repeated exposure to the infective agent if the child is catching cold and cough repeatedly yoj c cu need to develop good immunity by giving proper balanced diet and multi -vitamin supplements under medical guidance.
