hello doctor π We are planning to have a second child, but recently my husband got a report that he has diabetes....if we have a second child at this time, will it affect the baby with any problem.... Please educate about this matter

ExpertDr Laxmi Chavan-SawantAyurvedic Gynaecologist 1 Year agoA. if father is having diabetes it will not create any problems to the baby during pregnancy but yes there are chances that baby made developed diabetes later on in life if you have a family history

Diabetes is not a contagious thing that your pregnancy of the child is going to get affected so you can go ahead with the second child it is not a problem but still if you have any kind of a doubt before you conceive please take a proper discussion and consultation with your gynaecologist and your Doctor Who is treating your husband for diabetes
