If The child is continuously having short of breath when you get a check with your doctor immediately sometimes it could be due to cold but these days it is one of the symptoms for Covid as well so please you get it checked with your doctor is what least you are sure that it is not Covid but whatever the reason is the medicine and treatment can be given accordingly
