#asktheexperts my lo is 1 year 7 months old . he got a cold n cough and we had to give him antibiotics for 5 days . during the course of antibiotics he was all fine now again he's got cough n running nose. it doesn't seem to go away. what should i do now

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 9 m old boy3 years agoA. it appears to be allergic cough/cold. they can be associated with temperature variations around the body (hot to cold or cold to hot environmental changes) which the body cannot sustain leading to cough usually at evening /night and morning. allergy can be environmental (temperature variation -hot to cold weather/ cold water intake / dust / smoke / pollens) , food , chocolate / packet preservatives food and sweet food also. body cannot sustain such allergic changes leading to cough cold usually at evening /night and morning. requires examination and starzt anti allergic medicines. meet dr and prevent such temperature variations. there is a possibility of starting anti allergic medicines for at least one month and the doctor will decide if the child needs inhaler therapy or nebulization. when allergies are not controlled they can lead to intermitteznt respiratory infections which needs other medicine

Sunita MahatoMom of 2 children3 years agoA. now again cold and cough...may be because of the weather conditions changes... give steam inhalation use Nasoclear saline nasal drops apply warm mustard oil on baby chest and back and feet and gently massage at bed time use Babyhug rapid relief baby rub
