POOJA KOTHARIMom of a 9 yr 5 m old boy1 Year agoA. If your 5-month-old baby's pee is slightly red, here are possible reasons and what you should do: Possible Causes Urates (Brick Dust Urine) – Common in babies, especially if they are slightly dehydrated. Appears as pink or reddish stains in the diaper. Usually harmless if it happens once or twice. Mild Dehydration – If your baby is not drinking enough breast milk or formula. Look for less frequent urination or darker urine. Blood in Urine (Hematuria) – Could be due to a mild infection, diaper rash irritation, or other medical issues. If you see bright red blood, clots, or if the baby is crying in discomfort, consult a doctor immediately. What You Can Do ✔ Increase Fluids – Offer more breast milk or formula to keep the baby hydrated. ✔ Check for Diaper Rash – If there's irritation, apply a mild baby rash cream. ✔ Monitor for Other Symptoms – Fever, fussiness, crying while urinating, or continued red urine for more than a day needs medical attention. When to See a Doctor? ⚠ If the red color persists for more than 1-2 diaper changes. ⚠ If the baby has fever, irritability, or reduced urination. ⚠ If the urine has a strong smell, blood clots, or signs of pain while urinating. Try increasing fluids and keep an eye on the next few diaper changes. Let me know if you notice any other symptoms!
