Q.

#AskTheExpert My son was having fever before some days..his doctor advise us to do his blood test. we done cbc..report was normal but hemoglobin was just 7.89, so further blood test of iron syrum was done..he has iron defeciency...aniemia. please advise what food I should give to my son..he is 21 months old..does aniemia and thalissimia are same?? me and my spouse does not have idea, if we have thalissimia. .

A. Hi mom Both are different. Thalesamia is genetic. Anaemic is not. Give food rich in iron like apple, pomergrate, mango, raisins, jaggery, guava, brinjal, spinach etc to increase hb.. Also give supplements prescribed by the doctor.
