A. Laparoscopic myomectomy is a minimally invasive surgery to remove uterine fibroids while preserving the uterus. It is done through 3–4 small cuts in the abdomen using a camera and special instruments. Compared with open surgery, it usually causes less pain, less blood loss, a shorter hospital stay (1–2 days), and a faster recovery (2–4 weeks). Most women can conceive after recovery if advised by their gynecologist. Like any surgery, there are risks such as bleeding, infection, or recurrence of fibroids. Discuss the size, number, and location of the fibroids with your doctor to know if this procedure is suitable for you. Wishing you a safe surgery and speedy recovery. 🌸
