#asktheexperts my daughter is 8 days old and her umbilical cord stump got off on the 5th day naturally. now my concern is the belly button somehow pops out a little when she cries too much. is it normal? he said it's fine and gave a powder cepladine for healing... poping of the belly button is normal and there is dried blood inside which scares me. please reply

A. Please get it checked with the doctor which is difficult to see what maybe the situation but it is looking like umbilical hernia and also the blood is dried out which happens sometimes after the chords but if it is not oozing out then it is not a problem but still you should check with your doctor
