#Askthe expert Hello doctors. good day all! I'm in the 35th week of pregnancy. during my growth and AFI scan last week, I saw my baby heartbeat is 186. also, on my 2nd trimester scan it was 160+, My questions is, is the heart rate 180+ normal? We haven't taken the stress test yet? should I take that test to confirm everything is ok? please advise..

ExpertDr.Sabiha AnjumObstetrician and Gynaecologist3 years agoA. Hello dear No harm in getting a non stress test. You will k ow how the baby is doing. But the time that you saw is also important here. Within a minute itself the fetal heart keeps fluctuating from 140-180 also. But it comes back to baseline again. So we can’t say depending on one reading only
